One of the most popular celebrity diet plans, the Dukan Diet, has taken the top spot in the British Dietetic Association’s annual list of ‘worst celebrity diets to avoid this New Year,” whilst a low GL diet is approved by the Scientific Advisory Board on Weight Management.

The conventional view has been that type-2 diabetes cannot be cured or reversed. However, there are many cases of people who have done just that. One such published case of an insulin injecting type-2 diabetic who is now insulin free and having normal blood sugar, treated by Dr Fedon Lindberg, was published in the Norwegian medical journal. Dr Fedon Lindberg is a physician, specialising in the nutritional treatment of diabetes, and is author of ten books on Nutrition and Health, including the “Greek Doctor’s Diet” series. This blog is a discussion I had with Dr Fedon Lindberg in relation to whether or not diabetes can be reversed or cured.

Reported in the Guardian today are the results of an eight week crash diet on diabetes (type 2). Seven out of eleven volunteers were free from diabetes three months later.
